ASHBURNHAM - Patricia “Patty” Ellen Slack Lang, 66, died May 8th, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family. She leaves her sons James (Ashley) and Steven (Ashlie) and their father Donald Lang, and her three grandsons Matthew, Alexander and Colin. She also leaves her sister Madeline Poulin (Michael), and her brothers Tim (Susan) Slack, David (Betty) and Bobby Slack.
Patty was born July 6th 1955 in West Boylston, MA to Robert and Shirley Slack. She was the youngest of her siblings and was always the baby of the family. She grew up in Boylston and graduated from nursing school at Fitchburg State College in 1977. Patty had a passion for old cars and adventure. She and Donald started making Model T bodies for extra income after college and then started attending old car flea markets to buy and sell Model T parts. After being a nurse, mostly at Burbank Hospital, Patty created Lang's Old Car Parts which, 40 years later, is one of the largest suppliers of Model T Parts in the World. She raised two wonderful boys and brought them both through the Boy Scouts of America program, through to Eagle Scout, as she volunteered as an assistant scoutmaster for many years. Her summers were spent scouting, camping, car shows and flea markets with her family. She had a passion for travel and saw a lot of the world, her favorite place was always Disney World. Patty loved everything Disney World and would go often with her boys and bring their friends along. Patty also loved her dogs. She always had one or two around (sometimes three!), all of them being rescue dogs. Patty will always be remembered for her silly moments and making us laugh.
There will be calling hours on 11:30 to 1:30 on Saturday May14, 2022 in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. A brief service will follow at 1:30.
