WINCHENDON - Adolph O. George, Jr., 77, of 22 Goodrich Drive, died Friday evening in Heywood Hospital, Gardner. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 17,1931, the son of the late Adolf and Marie (Berg) George and had lived in Winchendon for 40 years, after retiring from Fort Devens. Adolph loved to tinker with electronics and worked a variety of jobs for plastics and electronics companies in the area. He proudly served in the United States Army for twenty years, during both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was a member of the Eugene M. Connor Post 193 American Legion. He was an amateur Ham Radio operator and he enjoyed electronics and fishing. In his earlier years, he also enjoyed bowling and painting. His greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family. He leaves five children, Sister Rose Bernadette, D.I. Rosado of Libertyville, IL., Gregory J. George of Winchendon, Kimberly M. George of Cuba, N.Y., Anthony C. George and his wife Catherine of Winchendon and Kelley R. Ladeau and her husband Stephen of Stafford, VA.; one sister, Doris Morris of Berwyn, IL, nine grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and many nephews, nieces, grand nephews and grand nieces. A brother, Andrew Georgi, predeceased him. Military funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 10th at 11 A.M. in the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon. Memorial calling hours will be held in the Snow-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon on Tuesday, December 9th from 6 to 8 P.M., with a Legion Service at 7 P.M .
