ATHOL - Agnes R. (LeBlanc) Tourigny, 80, of 73 Cottage Street, died Tuesday evening, January 10th in her son's home in Athol surrounded by her family, following an illness. She was born in Gardner on January 3,1926, the daughter of Fidele and Regina (Collette) LeBlanc, and had lived in Baldwinville for 58 years before moving to Athol 20 years ago. Agnes was a graduate of Gardner High School in 1944 and the former Henry Heywood Hospital School of Nursing in 1946. She was a registered nurse at Heywood Hospital before retiring in 1989. She was one of the founding staff members of the Special Procedures Unit at the hospital. She was a communicant of St. Vincent de Paul Church in Baldwinville, and enjoyed sewing, quilting and home decorating. Her husband of 35 years, Leo P. Tourigny, died in 1982. Agnes leaves seven sons, Michael A. Tourigny of Manchester, N.H., David P. Tourigny of Ashburnham, Thomas N. Tourigny and Peter L. Tourigny, both of Athol, Vincent P. Tourigny of Hubbardston, Donald P. Tourigny of Templeton and Phillip K. Tourigny of East Templeton; three daughters, Susanne M. Peaslee of Gilmantin I.W., N.H., Paulette A. Morris of Bristol, N.H. and Celeste Y. Zisk of Baldwinville; a sister, Sylvia Couture of Gardner; 20 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 14th from the Snow-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. in St. Vincent de Paul Church, 1 Forrest Street, Baldwinville. Private burial will take place in St. John's Cemetery, Gardner in the spring. A calling hour will be held in the funeral home Saturday from 9:15 to 10:15 A.M.
