Albert J. "Frenchy" Lefebvre

WINCHENDON - Albert J. "Frenchy" Lefebvre, 90, of 130 Elm Street, Winchendon, died Wednesday evening, August 13th in the Baldwinville Nursing Home, Baldwinville. He was born in Asbestos, Canada on April 20,1918, the son of Theodule and Clara (LaBonte) Lefebvre and had lived in Winchendon for most of his life. Frenchy worked as a freighter for many years for the Boston & Maine Railroad. He later worked as a plumbers assistant for Gauthiers Plumbing and the former Harbour Restaurant. He was very involved in sports, playing baseball as a youth and in later years, he played in local baseball and softball leagues. He also enjoyed recreational golf and played at the Winchendon Golf Course. He was a member of Lt. Frederick Wilder White Post 2158 VFW and the Napoleon Club in Gardner. Frenchy proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during World War Two. He was awarded the European African Middle Eastern Ribbon and the Good Conduct Ribbon. His wife of 54 years, Kathryn E. "Kay" Lefebvre, died in 1999 and a son, Thomas A. Lefebvre of Tucson, AZ., died in 2005. He leaves a son, Philip A. Lefebvre and his wife Janice of Baldwinville and two granddaughters, Kristin Garcia and her husband Lloyd and Karli Lefebvre and her fiance Erik, both of Arizona and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by two brothers, Wilfred Lefebvre and Joseph Lefebvre and four sisters, Lucille Carrier, Alma Caron, Fernande Ricord and Claire Rodrigue. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 16th at 11 A.M. in the Snow-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. The Rev. Francis A. Roberge, pastor of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home will be Saturday, August 16th from 10 to 11 A.M. before the funeral. Memorial donations may be made to the Winchendon EMT Ambulance Fund, P.O.
