Albert L. Girouard

WINCHENDON - Albert L. Girouard, 84, of Winchendon, died Sunday evening, June 20th in Heywood Hospital, Gardner. He was born in Winchendon of September 23, 1925, the son of the late Omer and Louisa (Girouard) Girouard, attended Winchendon schools and was a lifelong resident of Winchendon. Albert proudly served his country in the Army during World War Two and received the Purple Heart and other medals of distinction. He operated the Winchendon Taxi Company with his brother Leo for many years. He was also employed by Mathieu Ford. He is survived by his sister Jeannette Girouard of Gardner and his nephew Roger LaPointe, Sr. of Methuen, MA. He was predeceased by his brother Leo, sisters, Antoinette Girouard, Yvonne LaPointe, Theresa Utz and his nephew Robert LaPointe. Private funeral and burial services were arranged by Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. There are no calling hours.
