GARDNER- Alice Louise (Adams) Kliskey, 88, passed away peacefully in her home on December 24, 2020 in the presence of her loved ones.
Born in Gardner on September 2, 1932, she was the daughter of Thomas Archer Adams and Ida Rose (Rice) Adams. Alice was a graduate of the former Templeton High School. She wrote the class song to the tune of “Auld Lang Syne.” Alice was a former member of Memorial Congregational Church, Baldwinville, where she sang in the choir.
After high school graduation, Alice moved to Worcester and lived at the YWCA, where she had met lifelong friends, who remained dear to her heart. There she was employed by Mass. Protective Association and Paul Revere Insurance, and later Simplex Time Recorder Company. She loved singing, sewing, watching television and soap operas, flower gardening, cooking and baking for her family.
Alice happily served as the caretaker and love-giver for not just her own children, but also the two generations, that followed. She selflessly looked after both her grandchildren and great grandchildren, who kept her youthful, while she shared her wisdom and taught them about love.
Alice was predeceased by her husband, John James Kliskey, Jr.; her sister, Dorothy Richards; two brothers, Paul Adams and Thomas Adams and a special aunt, Barbara Cummings.
Alice is survived by her son, David Keith Kliskey and daughter, Donna Jean Kliskey, both of Gardner; five grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; a special aunt, Priscilla Hubbard of Vermont and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
