Alice L. (LaDeau) Betourney

WINCHENDON - Alice L. (LaDeau) Betourney, 87, formerly of 37 Spruce Street, Winchendon, died peacefully Sunday evening, January 4th in the Wachusett Manor Nursing Home, Gardner. She was born in Walpole, NH on July 30,1921, the daughter of the late Lewis C. and Lillian A. (Westcott) LaDeau and was a resident of Winchendon for most of her life. Alice owned and operated the former Alice's Beauty Salon for many years until her retirement. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Alice also belonged to the Eugene M. Connor Post 193 American Legion Auxiliary and worked beano for many years. She was a 1939 graduate of Murdock High School and graduated from a hairdressing school in Worcester. She loved to cook and decorate beautiful cakes and enjoyed entertaining family and friends. Alice also loved her Siamese cats. Her husband of 52 years, Charles R. "Bob" Betourney, died in 1994. She leaves a son, C. Robert "Bob" Betourney, Jr. and his wife Bonnie of Winchendon; a daughter, Linda A. LeBlanc and her husband Alfred of Claremont, N.H.; six grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. Three brothers, Harold L. LaDeau, who died in 1992, Duane A. LaDeau, who died in 1994 and Bobbie Ladeau, who died at the age of 1; a sister, Betty Ladeau, who died at the age of 16 and a half sister, Adeline Bobbit, who died last month, predeceased her. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 13th from the Snow-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 52 Spruce Street. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home will be Monday, January 12th from 6 to 8 P.M.
