Alice M. (Tuck) Creamer

ASHBURNHAM - Alice M. (Tuck) Creamer, 94, of 547 Central Street, Winchendon and a former long-time resident of South Ashburnham, died peacefully Tuesday morning, February 23rd in Wachusett Manor Nursing Home, Gardner. She was born in Bangor, Maine on June 13,1915, the daughter of the late William and Grace (McAlpine) Tuck and had lived in South Ashburnham for many years. Alice was a graduate of Bangor Normal School and taught elementary school in a one room school house in Greene, Maine. Many years ago, Alice won a contest and flew with Amelia Earhart over Bangor, Maine. After moving to South Ashburnham, Alice was a substitute teacher in Ashburnham and a kindergarten teacher in Westminster. Active in the Ashburnham community, Alice was a former library trustee, member of the School Committee, the Forever Young Club and had been a Girl Scout and Brownie leader. She was a long-time member of People's Evangelical Congregational Church, where she had been a Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School Teacher, a member of the church choir and Ladies Aid Society. Alice had volunteered in the voting booths and loved to sew, read novels, play Scrabble, read poetry and travel. Her husband of 51 years, Everett C. Creamer, died in 1991. She leaves two children, Allen R. Creamer and his wife Arlene of Ashburnham and Sharon E. Rankin and her husband Edward of Gardner; three grandchildren, Christopher A. Creamer, Scott E. Rankin and Allison B. Kinyua; five great grandchildren and two great great grandsons. Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 28th at 3 P.M. in People's Evangelical Congregational Church, 56 Main Street, South Ashburnham. The Rev. Dan Allen will officiate. Calling hours in the church will be Sunday, February 28th from 2 to 3 P.M. preceding the funeral. Burial will be in Valley Cemetery, Greene, Maine at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to People's Evangelical Congregational Church, 56 Main Street, Ashburnham, MA 01430, Broadview Assisted Living, 547 Central Street, Winchendon, MA. 01475 or to American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA. 01701.
