WINCHENDON - Anita J. (Lafleur) Nardini, 85, of 13 Mechanic Street, Winchendon, died peacefully Saturday morning, October 16th in Heywood Hospital, Gardner.
She was born in Winchendon on March 1, 1925, the daughter of the late Telesphore and Elizabeth (Caouette) Lafleur and was a lifelong resident of Winchendon.
Anita managed the former CO-OP Grocery Store and later owned and operated the former Food Ranch Grocery Store of Winchendon, with her husband. After her retirement, she worked at Slavens Pharmacy and The Winchendon School as a clerk and receptionist. Many years ago, she worked as a waitress at Casa Giardini Restaurant. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and graduated from Murdock High School in 1943. Anita enjoyed dancing and golfing but found her greatest enjoyment from spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She leaves her husband of 58 years, Silvio A. Nardini, whom she married on November 12, 1951; three children, Mark S. Nardini and his wife Crystal of Winchendon, Nina E. Nardini of Winchendon and Tina M. Lashua of Templeton and two grandchildren, Jonathan W.S. Lashua and Allison E. Lashua, both of Templeton. A brother, George P. Lafleur, predeceased her.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 20th from Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 A.M. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 52 Spruce Street. Burial will be in Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
Calling hours in the funeral home are Tuesday, October 19th from 6 to 8 P.M.
