GARDNER - Annette M. (Dion) Adamson, 83, of 552 West Street, Gardner, died peacefully Tuesday evening, December 14th in Life Care Center of Leominster, with her family at her side.
She was born in Gardner on September 27, 1927, the daughter of the late Ernest and Marion (Demers) Dion, attended Gardner schools and was a lifelong resident of Gardner.
Annette worked as a telephone operator for 25 years at New England Telephone Company until her retirement in 1984. She was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America. She was a long time member of Bethany Baptist Church, where she had been a member of its Deaconess Board, Womens' Bible Study, Priscilla Circle and its Memorial Committee. She also sang in the church choir for 40 years.
Her husband of 52 years, Warren I. Adamson, whom she married on April 23, 1949, died in 2001. She leaves a son, Douglas S. Adamson and his wife Marie of Gardner; four grandchildren, Mark W. Adamson Jr, Kristine Teto, Sabrena Sawyer, all of Gardner and Lisa Durrett of Winchendon; six great grandchildren, Melissa Teto, Chelsea Teto, Kimberly Adamson, Keianna Durrett, Kaitlyn Teto and Elijah Durrett; a sister, Jeanne Bourgeois and her husband Simon of Gardner; a sister-in-law, Edna Anderson of Gardner; several nephews and nieces and her spiritual family at Bethany Baptist Church. A son, Mark W. Adamson, predeceased her in February of this year.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 18th at 11 A.M. in Bethany Baptist Church, 72 Ryan Street, Gardner, followed by a time of coffee, fellowship and refreshments. The Rev. Dan Meiners and the Rev. Edwin Lindquist will officiate. Calling hours in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon, will be Friday, December 17th from 6 to 8 P.M. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Gardner at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Bethany Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 72 Ryan Street, Gardner, MA. 01440.
