Anthony J. "Tony" LaFreniere, born on the 9th of July, 1934, in Winchendon, MA, USA, found his eternal rest on the 8th of November, 2024. Tony was a loving, generous, supportive, and funny soul, who lived a life of immense devotion to his family, friends, and his faith. He was a familiar and cherished face in Winchendon, Massachusetts, where he resided all his life. A widower, Tony was blessed with a beautiful family, and his heart was always full of love and pride for his children and grandchildren. He was a man who wore many hats in his life, from a dedicated worker in the Maintenance Department at Chem Design Corp to a black belt in Judo, but the role he relished most was that of a family man.
In his younger years, Tony's infectious laughter and warm spirit were the highlight of the choir at the United Parish in Winchendon, a role he reprised in his senior years, showcasing his unwavering faith. He was a man of God and lived his life by the teachings of the Protestant faith. A verse that resonated deeply with Tony was Psalm 37:3, "Trust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness." Tony’s love for life was contagious, and he found joy in the simplest of things, from golfing to working out at the YMCA. He was renowned for his generosity, always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, and his supportive nature made him a pillar of strength for his loved ones.
Tony was the beloved son of the late Maxim and Antoinette LaFreniere, and the cherished husband of the late Doris LaFreniere. He is survived by his loving children and their spouses: Candace (Dennis) LaFreniere, Brenda (Jonathan) Fitzgerald, Rhonda (James) Robichaud, Todd (Cyndee) LaFreniere, Anthony Jr. (Heather) LaFreniere, and Sherry (Warren) LaFreniere. He also leaves behind his sister, Juanita Prentice, who held a special place in his heart. As well as his grandchildren, great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and his in-laws.
