WINCHENDON - Arthur G. Plante, 96, died Friday, March 17, 2023, at Quabbin Valley Nursing Home in Athol after an illness.
He was the husband of the late Pauline (Duval) Plante, who died in 2002.
He leaves two children, Marie Roche and her husband Christopher of Athol, and Bernadette Plante of Gardner; two grandchildren, Courtney Roche, and Jared Roche; two brothers, Francis E. Plante, and Eugene P. Plante; three sisters, Anita F. Duplease, Alice E. Tousignant and her husband Phillip of Winchendon, and Beatrice M. Morgan and her husband Albert of Danvers; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters, Antoinette J. Plante, Claire J. Johnson, and Florence T. Plante, and two brothers Maurice Z. Plante and Walter A. Plante.
He was born in Winchendon on July 20, 1926, a son of the late George E. and Josephine (Girouard) Plante. He served in the US Army during the Korean War.
He worked for WW Cross Co. in Jaffrey, NH for 37 years as a Quality Control Inspector. Arthur was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Winchendon, He was a lifelong resident of Winchendon and also enjoyed gardening.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2023 from 5 to 7 PM in Stone Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon, MA.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, March 24, 2023 at 11 A.M. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 52 Spruce Street, Winchendon, MA.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in the Spring with Military Honors.
