Arthur J. "Art" Rocheleau Sr.

WINCHENDON - Arthur J. "Art" Rocheleau Sr., 63, of 19 Old Gardner Road, died Wednesday, November 30th in his residence following an illness. He was born in Winchendon on November 5,1942, the son of Maximin S. and Coranna M. (Hardy) Rocheleau and was a lifelong resident. Art owned and operated Art's Auto in Winchendon for many years. He was a former selectman in Winchendon, former member of the Winchendon Fire Department for 17 years, and was a former member of the Board of Directors of the Wendell P. Clark Community Center. Art was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was a member of the Eugene M. Connor Post 193 American Legion and the Lt. Frederick Wilder White Post 2158 Veterans of Foreign Wars. An avid golfer, he was a member of the Winchendon Country Club. He was once very active in the Winchendon Little League. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Art leaves his wife of 43 years, Sandra J. (Girard) Rocheleau; a son, Arthur J. Rocheleau Jr. of Winchendon; two daughters, Lori A. Bourinot of Waltham and Dianna M. Walsh of Winchendon; five brothers, Roland J. Rocheleau, Maurice S. Rocheleau, Alfred F. Rocheleau, Joseph C. Rocheleau and George S. Rocheleau, all of Winchendon; four sisters, Anna M. Cormier of Leominster, Cecile R. May, Rita M. Elola and Theresa A. Thurlow, all of Winchendon; twelve grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 5th from the Snow-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 52 Spruce Street. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon. Calling hours in the funeral home will be Sunday, December 4th from 2 to 4 P.M. with a Legion Ritual at 3:30 P.M.
