TEMPLETON – Barbara A. (Lawrence) Paine, 83, of 694 Baldwinville Road, died peacefully at her residence Saturday morning, May 22, 2021 , with her family at her side.
She was born in Winchendon on September 25, 1937, daughter of the late Arthur and Lillian (Glidden) Lawrence. She attended Gardner schools and had lived in Baldwinville for many years.
Barbara was a former Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader and was a long time member of Memorial Congregational Church and Templeton Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary. She enjoyed to knit, crochet, go to the beach and do puzzles. She especially loved to spend time with her family and always made extra special time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Barbara spent many summers at Lake Monomonac and York Beach, Maine.
Her husband of 45 years, former Templeton Fire Chief Richard S. Paine, died in 2008. She leaves three children, Ursula Michel and her husband William of Baldwinville, Martin S. Paine of Royalston and Richard S. Paine Jr and his wife Molly of Baldwinville; ten grandchildren, Jason, Jessica, Robert, Rebecca, Amanda, Marissa, Brad, Grey, Kayla and Brittany; four great grandchildren, Carter, Colton, Cameron and Evie; one sister, Eleanor Binnall of Auburn and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Bourassa; a sister, Elizabeth Wilson and two brothers, George Lawrence and William Lawrence.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at 11 A.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Baldwinville.
Calling hours in the funeral home are Tuesday, May 25, 2021 from 5 to 7 P.M.
