TEMPLETON- Barbara V. (Wilkinson) Gleason, 89, a former long-time resident of Baldwinville, died peacefully Wednesday morning, May 11 th in Baldwinville Nursing Home, Baldwinville. She was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Winton H. Gleason, who died in 1993.

She is survived by two sons: Philip D. Gleason and his wife Helene and Gerald W. Gleason and his wife Jeannette; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Barbara was predeceased by one son, Thomas M. Gleason.

Barbara was born in Gardner on December 24, 1921, the daughter of Thomas and Mildred (Brown)Wilkinson and lived in Baldwinville for 69 years. She was a 1941 graduate of Gardner High School, where she was active with the band. After graduating, Barbara briefly worked at Goodnow Pearsons and later at the LH Sawin Co., a business she and her husband operated for 44 years. Barbara was co-owner, Treasurer, and Chief Financial Officer of the company.

After retirement, Barbara enjoyed lunching with friends, bingo, ceramics, and trips to Foxwoods. Prior to her stay at the Baldwinville Nursing Home, Barbara resided at Broadview Assisted Living in Winchendon, where she made many lasting friends. She was a member of Memorial Congregational Church in Baldwinville.

Barbara will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her sense of humor and convictions are a model to us all.

The family wishes to express their thanks to Broadview Assisted Living and Baldwinville Nursing Home for their care and support during her stays.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 16 th at 1:30 P.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. The Rev. Robert Johansen will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Baldwinville.

Calling hours in the funeral home will be Sunday, May 15 th from 2 to 4 P.M.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Memorial Congregational Church, Restoration Fund, PO Box 100, Baldwinville, MA 01436.
