WINCHENDON – Beatrice M. (Fisk) Mellett-Harding, 76, formerly of Winchendon, died peacefully Sunday morning, June 8th in Holden Rehab and Skilled Nursing Center, Holden.
She was born in Williston, VT on July 10, 1938, daughter of the late Hazen Ivis and Reba (Tallman) Fisk Sr and graduated from Fitchburg High School. She had lived in Winchendon from 1993 to 2009.
Bea worked many years ago at Independent Lock and The Yarn Store in Fitchburg. Until her retirement in 1992, she worked as a property book manager at Central Issue Facility at Fort Devens. Her hobbies were crocheting and knitting. She was also a huge hockey fan. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family, doing things with her family and helping her family.
She was predeceased by two husbands, Edward Joseph Mellett, who died in 1980 and Arthur E. Harding, who died in 2010. She leaves two sons, Michael P. Mellett of Winter Park, FL and Shawn F. Mellett of Gardner; a granddaughter, Heather Laclair of South Hadley; a stepdaughter, Laurel B. Harding of Boston; a stepson, Edward A. Harding of Grey, ME; her brother s and sister, Hazen Ivis Fisk Jr of Greenville, NH, Harry Fisk of Fitchburg, Joyce Lashua of Asheboro, NC and a half sister Virginia Basely of Gary, Indiana and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Audrey Misner, Marlene Racine, Gloria Hess and Phyllis Violet, a half sister Margaret Davis, a half brother, Fred Leavitt and a half brother Harold Leavitt.
Private graveside services will be held in Forest Hill Cemetery, Fitchburg.
