WINCHENDON - Bernice M. (St. Laurent) Richards, 79, of 6 Crescent Road, Winchendon, died Monday, June 4th in Heywood Hospital, Gardner after an illness. She was born in Winchendon on May 8,1928, the daughter of Joseph and Deniege (Ouellette) St. Laurent and graduated from Murdock High School with the Class of 1947. She later became a Licensed Practical Nurse from the former Gardner State Hospital and worked, many years ago, as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the former Pleasant View Rest Home in Winchendon. Bernice lived in Chatham for seventeen years and returned to Winchendon in 1994. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Her hobbies included crocheting, reading and dancing. She leaves her husband of 38 years, James E. Richards, and several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grandnephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 7th from the Snow-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 52 Spruce Street. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon. Calling hours in the funeral home will be Wednesday, June 6th from 6 to 8 P.M.
