Betty J. (Sibley) Blodgett, 83, died Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at her home with her family at her side.
She was the wife of the late Richard V. Blodgett, Sr.
Betty was born in Winchendon on August 30, 1941, a daughter of the late Robert and Dorothy (Brow) Sibley. She was a 1959 graduate of Murdock High School. She worked in various positions with the Winchendon Public Schools and was adored by faculty, parents, and students.
Betty was an active member of the Winchendon community, the Murdock Booster Club, Operation Winchendon Cares, and the Murdock Alumni Association. Betty and her family spent many years as members of the Clark Memorial and the United Parish. She loved camping at Lake Dennison and Old Orchard Beach with her family. Spending time with her children and grandchildren on holidays, attending their sporting events, and other activities brought her the greatest enjoyment.
She is survived by her children, Debi de Longchamp (Brian), Brenda Blodgett, Julie Eyles (Raymond Jr), Richard Blodgett Jr (Cheryl), and Matthew Blodgett (Jade); her grandchildren, Betty-Jane, Ariel, Damian, Raymond III, Taylor, Zachary, Payton, Lincoln, and Esme; and her greats, JR, Milo, Carter, Amber, Asher, and Blake. She was predeceased by a granddaughter Phoenix.
In Betty's words, "I was here. I did what I could and now I am gone."
