WINCHENDON - Betty D. (Wade) Babineau, 77, of 9 Cabot Road, Winchendon, died peacefully Wednesday evening, June 3rd on her 59th wedding anniversary, in University of Massachusetts Medical Center, University Campus, Worcester. She was born in Battle Creek, Michigan on November 21,1931, the daughter of the late Herbert and Hattie (Evans) Wade and graduated from Battle Creek High School. She had lived in Winchendon since 1975. Betty was an assembler at Ray Plastics for 15 years until her retirement. She was a member of Eugene M. Connor Post 193 American Legion Auxiliary and attended Cornerstone Church of the Assemblies of God. Betty was an immaculate house keeper and enjoyed outdoor activities, such as gardening. She also enjoyed playing Bingo. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who found her greatest enjoyment spending time with her family. Before living in Winchendon, she had lived in Fitchburg for twelve years. She leaves her husband of 59 years, Ernest J. Babineau; three children, Steven J. Babineau and his wife Marsha of Orange, Joyce A. Bond and her husband John L. of Gardner and Cindy Lafrennie of Gardner; one sister, Marion Wolf of Toledo, Ohio, 19 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. Betty was predeceased by two children, Larry L. Babineau of Orange, who died in 1982 and Susan Marie Thomas of Baldwinville, who died in 2004. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 8th at 10 A.M. in the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street. The Rev. Barry Risto will officiate. Calling hours in the Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon will be Sunday, June 7th from 6 to 8 P.M.
