WINCHENDON - Betty E. (Gormley) Ashmore, 90, formerly of 112 Ipswich Drive, died peacefully Thursday evening, November 9, 2017 in Gardner Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
She was born in Winchendon on March 2, 1927, daughter of the late Charles E. and Ruth M. (Gordon) Gormley and was a lifelong resident of Winchendon. Betty was a graduate of Murdock High School.
Betty had worked as a bank teller at the former Winchendon Savings Bank and had also worked as a waitress at the Old Mill Restaurant and as a tour guide for Wilson Bus Lines. She enjoyed playing music and loved spending time in the Wells, Maine and York, Maine areas. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family.
Her husband, Harold E. Ashmore, died in 1992. She leaves a son, Kerry F. Ashmore and his wife Lise of Leominster; a grandson Jayson Ashmore of Leominster as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two sons, Michael G. Ashmore, who died in 1993 and J. Peter Ashmore, who died in infancy; a brother, Gordon W. "Bill" Gormley and a sister Anne E. Mable.
There are no funeral services or calling hours planned.
