WINCHENDON – Betty L. (Roby) LaBarge, 69, of 104 Ipswich Drive, died peacefully Sunday morning, August 17th in Heywood Hospital, Gardner.
She was born in Buckhannon, W.VA. on April 21, 1945, daughter of the late Glendle W. and Nellie F. (Smith) Roby and had lived in Winchendon since 1967.
Betty worked as a custodian at Murdock High School for 20 years until her retirement. She previously had worked at National Seat Co. An avid fan of the New England Patriots, she enjoyed bowling and greatly enjoyed spending time with her family. She also loved the beaches of Ogunquit, ME and walking The Marginal Way.
She leaves her husband, Robert C. LaBarge; a daughter, Sheryl D. Ramsay and her husband Mario of Winchendon; a granddaughter, Jade E. Wilson of Orange; a stepson Trevor LaBarge and his wife Melinda of Keene, NH; three sisters, Annabelle Rucker, Helen Smith and Glenna Starkey, all of Buckhannon, WVA and several nieces and nephews. A daughter, Deborah A. Walker of Winchendon, preceded her in death as well as two sisters, Martha Rice and Joanne Launier.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 21st at 11 A.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street. The Rev. F. Calvin Miller will officiate.
A calling hour from 10 to 11 A.M. Thursday will precede the funeral.
Burial will be in the Massachusetts Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
