Brenda J. Callahan

TEMPLETON – Brenda J. (Payne) Callahan, 90, of 51 Hospital Road, Baldwinville died Monday, October 21, 2019 in Alliance Health at Baldwinville, with her family at her side.

She was born in Southampton, England on May 23, 1929, daughter of the late Bertram F. and Ida Winifred (Lewis) Payne and came to this country at the age of 18 alone to marry her future husband, Joseph E. Callahan.  She later lived in Quincy for many years and moved to Baldwinville two years ago.

Brenda worked many years ago at Bakers Chocolate Factory in Dorchester.  She later worked in the office at John Hancock Life Insurance Company for several years.  Brenda greatly enjoyed spending time with her family and enjoyed working in her flower gardens and knitting.

Her husband, Joseph E. Callahan, died in 1996.  She leaves two daughters, Carol A. Kondrchek and her husband Joseph of Templeton and Patricia L. Danielson of Ft. Myers, FL, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.  A daughter, Brenda J. Yalmokas, a grandson Michael Yalmokas and a brother, Leslie Payne, predeceased her.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 11 A.M. in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy.
