He began his career as a teacher of Industrial Arts in Mahwah High School in Mahwah, New Jersey. He came to this area in 1962, a year after the opening of Oakmont Regional High School in Ashburnham. Bruce was an avid NASCAR and Dale Earnhart Sr. fan. He had a collection of NASCAR collectibles, models and hats. He made several trips to Loudon, NH Raceway, and also to races in Charlotte and Dover Raceways. Bruce loved classic cars and assembled his Corvette convertible, which he has owned for several years and delighted in taking his grandchildren for rides. He loved athletics and followed all of the New England professional sports teams, the Boston Celtics, Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. Most recently, his grandchildren's passion for hockey brought him to the Boston Bruins, as well. In addition to his love of golf, he also enjoyed wood carving, fishing and fly tying. If it could be made, Bruce could make it. His greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
