WINCHENDON – Candace (Piper) Couture, 66, of 441 Maple Street, Winchendon died unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon, September 24th in Heywood Hospital, Gardner.
She was born in Winchendon on April 21, 1947, daughter of the late Richard and Ruth (Weeks) Piper and was a lifelong resident of Winchendon. She was a graduate of Murdock High School and Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical School with a degree in nursing.
Candy worked as a licensed practical nurse for several years at Heywood Hospital. Most recently she had worked for several years at the office of Dr. John Mulqueen, Gardner, until her retirement. Candy was an active member of Bethany Bible Chapel. An avid quilter, Candy taught many classes in quilting and participated in many quilting guilds.
She leaves her husband of 46 years, Charles D. “Dave” Couture; two children, David M. Couture of Winchendon and Amy Farnsworth of Winchendon; a granddaughter, Monica Couture of Montpelier, VT and a great grandson, Ryker Couture.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, October 1st at 1 P.M. in Bethany Bible Chapel, 727 Spring Street, Winchendon. The Rev. Tom Clinkscale will officiate.
Calling hours in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon are Monday evening, September 30th from 6 to 8 P.M.
