WINCHENDON - Carla Marie (Janhunen) Champagne, 62, of Winchendon Massachusetts passed away on April 23, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loved ones, due to a longtime illness. Her parents were the late Otto Janhunen and Cecile Irene (Aubuchon) Janhunen. Carla was predeceased by her sisters Shiela Janhunen, Nancy Janhunen, Gail (Janhunen) Dumas and brother Peter Janhunen. She leaves behind her brothers David and Warren Janhunen, and sisters Carol (Janhunen) Flinkstrom, Janice (Janhunen) Robillard and Marsha Janhunen.
Carla spent 45 wonderful years with her spouse Ronald Champagne and they were blessed with four children. Jennifer (Champagne) Sibley and her spouse Johnathan Sibley of Winchendon, Kristy (Champagne) Packard and her spouse Daniel Packard of Winchendon, Nancy (Champagne) Lovett and her spouse Timothy Lovett of Rindge, NH, and the youngest Travis Champagne and his wife Kara (Yoshida) Champagne of Templeton. She cherished her grandchildren as they did her. Brandon Sibley, 26 Paige Sibley, 22 Geurrin Lovett, 17 Zachary Lovett, 12 Alivia Packard, 11 Harper Champagne, 4 Owen Packard, 4 and Haley Champagne, 2. She also leaves two stepsisters, Carol Raynor and Norma Conlon. Carla had a great relationship with her Godmother Pauline Moras and the late George Moras as well as all the extended friends and family who loved her. A stepsister, Debra Chaume predeceased her.
For those who knew her, knew even through all the losses she endured she was always a source of strength and love. She was very witty and could make anyone laugh, she had a one of a kind personality. Hampton Beach was her favorite getaway spot no matter what time of year it was. She had a passion for cooking and was fortunate enough to establish her own restaurant Brandon's after her first born grandson.
Calling hours will be held Sunday, April 28, 2019 from 1 to 3 P.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. A funeral service will follow at 3 P.M. Sunday in the funeral home with Rev. Francis A. Roberge officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Brain Aneurysm Foundation, 269 Hanover Street #3, Hanover, MA 02339.
