WINCHENDON - Carlene Ann (Nurse) Adams, 79, of 310 Ash Street, died peacefully Tuesday afternoon, June 6, 2017 in Wachusett Manor Nursing Home, Gardner, with her family at her side.
She was born in Newton, MA on July 6, 1937, daughter of the late William and Dorothy ((Eschelbach) Nurse and grew up in Newton and Hingham. She was a graduate of Hingham High School and Mt. Ida College. Since 1981, she resided in Winchendon.
Carlene worked for many years as hospital laboratory technician at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. She proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1959 to 1960. Carlene enjoyed her animals. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with family.
She leaves a daughter, Kimberly A. Orme and her husband Steven of Winchendon; a brother, Ronald W. Nurse Sr and his wife Florence of Florida; 5 grandchildren, Carlene O'Donnell, Christine Freeman, Katrina Coolbaugh, Kassandra Lee and Bradley Orme and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 9, 2017 at 1 P.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon.
Burial, with military honors, will be Monday, June 12, 2017 at 10 A.M. in the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon.
