Carol E. (Decker) Whitney

April 4, 1950 — July 23, 2014

TEMPLETON – Carol E. (Decker) Whitney, 64, of 106 Baptist Common Road, died unexpectedly Wednesday, July 23rd in Tobey Hospital, Wareham.

She was born in Keene, NH, daughter of the late Carl and Jacqueline (Lunetta) Decker and graduated from Keene High School in 1968.  She later graduated from St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing in 1971.  She had lived in Templeton for eight years.

Carol was a registered nurse for her entire working career until retiring a year ago.  She had a terrific sense of humor and had a fun loving and gregarious personality.  She had the ability to make friends very easily.  Her hobbies were working in her flower garden and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She leaves her husband of eight years, Robert A. Whitney; a son, Stephen J. Brodeur and his wife Rebecca of Dover, NH; two daughters, Michelle T. Castro and her husband Adrian of Tuscon, AZ and Jennifer Whitney and her friend Ray of Westminster; a brother, James Decker and his wife Diane of Northwood, NH and four grandchildren, Miles Patrick Brodeur, JMichael Castro, Jacqueline Castro and Madeline Castro.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, July 31st at 11 A.M. in St. Vincent de Paul Church, 1 Forest Street, Baldwinville.

Calling hours in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon are Wednesday, July 30th from 5 to 7 P.M.

Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Baldwinville at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
