ASHBURNHAM – Carolyn A. (Ball) Chambers, 79, of 8 South Main Street, died peacefully Monday morning, June 15th in Gardner Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Gardner.
She was born in Fitchburg on December 24, 1935, daughter of the late James and Caroline E. (Rivers) Ball and graduated from Fitchburg High School. She lived in Ashburnham for the last 2 ½ years, moving from North Carolina.
Carolyn formerly worked as a seamstress. She loved to knit and crochet baby hats. She and a group of volunteers used to knit and crochet for newborn babies at Chowan County Hospital before moving to this area. She was a member of DAV Womens Auxiliary. She will be remembered as a kind and gentle person, who loved her family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest W. Chambers. She leaves four children, Franklin Goss of Ashburnham, Debra A. Levanti and her husband David, Michael J. Goss and Scott A. Goss, all of Ashburnham; two grandchildren, David J. Levanti and Katelyn E. Levant and a sister, Barbara Ethier of Delaware. A brother, Robert Ball, predeceased her.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling Hours.
