Charles E. Wells, "Sonny" a steadfast guardian of his community and a devoted family man, passed away on November 15, 2024.
Born in Nashua, NH on February 20, 1939, Charles was a beacon of stability and strength, always ready to lend a helping hand and share a hearty laugh. His indomitable spirit and his unwavering commitment to his loved ones defined his life's journey and left an indelible impact on all who knew him. Charles was a devoted hunter, bingo and fisherman.
Charles spent his professional life as a security guard in the computer industry. His work ethic was exemplary, and he brought the same dedication to his personal life, lovingly raising his children in Winchendon, Massachusetts.
Charles was the proud father of Charles Wells, Maurice Wells, Linda Shampine, Lori Lariviere, and Claire Legree; many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and his four brothers, Maurice, Lawrence, Carl, and Joel. His sense of duty, his courage, and his wisdom are the legacy he leaves behind, carried forward in the hearts and minds of his children.
Predeceased by his wife, Marietta Wells, his parents, Charles Sr. and Elsie Wells, his brothers Richard, John, and Ronald Wells, his son, Clifford Wells, and his sisters Shirley Barkhouse and Carol Cruz, Charles now rests with those he held dear. His passing is a profound loss, but his memory will continue to inspire and guide those who survive him.
He will be remembered for his resilience, his infectious laughter, and his abiding love for his family.
Charles's life will be celebrated at Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central St., Winchendon, on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at 11:00 am. A calling hour will precede the funeral at 10:00 am. He will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery, 38 Glenallen Street, Winchendon, Massachusetts, at 11:45 am.
