Charles E. Duplease Jr.

GARDNER – Charles E. Duplease Jr, 82, of 91 Marquette Street, died Tuesday, February 26, 2019 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, Worcester.

He was born in Winchendon on June 26, 1936, son of the late Charles E. and Rose A. (Gamelin) Duplease and lived in Gardner since 1960.  Charles was a 1955 graduate of Murdock High School and was a graduate of Mt. Wachusett Community College.

Charles (Jack) was a registered nurse and worked at Gardner, Rutland, and Worcester State Hospitals until his retirement in 1991.  He was a kind, caring, and compassionate man.  He was always willing to help friends, family, neighbors, and strangers alike.  Charles loved animals. He enjoyed gardening, painting, and cooking.  He also enjoyed traveling to Germany, where he had many dear friends and loved ones.  Charles “leaves all of his love to relatives and friends in this country and in Germany.”

He leaves a brother, Donald Duplease and his wife Anita of Winchendon and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Robert Duplease, Gordon Duplease, Julian Duplease, Olive Webster, Marilyn Chaisson, Audrey Lema and Eleanor Beaumont.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, March 7, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 52 Spruce Street, Winchendon.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in the spring.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148.
