Charles J. Prince

GARDNER - Charles J. Prince, 85, of 104 Church Street, Gardner, formerly of Leominster, died unexpectedly Monday morning, September 14th in Heywood Hospital, Gardner. He was born in Leominster on February 4,1924, the son of the late Doina and Leona (Bergeron) Prince and had lived in Gardner for two years, after returning to the area from Clearwater, Florida. Charlie attended Leominster Trade School and worked as a foreman for EB Kingman Co. for 42 years until his retirement in 1998. He previously worked as a foreman at Ray Plastics, Winchendon. He loved antique cars, flying remote control airplanes and carving. He leaves his wife, Marion M. (Lafreniere) Russell Prince; a daughter, Ruby A. Heffelfinger and her husband Charles of Leominster; three stepchildren Carl R. Russell and his Maureen of Winchendon, Rodney A. Russell and his wife Karen of Hinsdale, NH and Darlene M. Russell of Gardner; eleven grandchildren, Carol A. Heffelfinger of Charlotte, NC, Captain Dawn L. Heffelfinger USAF of FL, Maurice R. Russell of Winchendon, Scott Russell of FL, Paul Russell of FL, Ernest Russell of Winchendon, Chad Russell of Leominster, Tim Russell of Winchendon, Michael Fronte of Gardner, Matthew Fronte of Gardner and Nicholas Deveau of Gardner; two sisters, Doris LaCross of Leominster and Claire Tourigny of Leominster, as well as many great grandchildren, many great great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a brother Leo Prince. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 18th at 11 A.M. in the Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. The Rev. Francis A. Roberge will officiate. Calling hours in the funeral home will be Thursday, September 17th from 6 to 8 P.M. Burial in Calvary Cemetery, Winchendon will be private.
