Charlotte A. Desmond

December 12, 1925 — June 17, 2015

WINCHENDON – Charlotte A. (Lucies) Desmond, 89, formerly of Winchendon, died Wednesday, June 17th in Gulf Coast Hospital, Cape Coral, FL with her family at her side.

She was born in Winchendon on December 12, 1925, daughter of the late Dewey and Barbara (Ellis) Lucies and graduated from Murdock High School.  Charlotte was a resident of Winchendon for most of her life until moving to No. Ft. Myers, FL.

Charlotte worked for many years as a furniture decorator for the former Heywood Wakefield Furniture Co. as well as other local furniture companies.  At the time of her retirement, Charlotte was working at Simplex Time Recorder.  She was a member of the Red Hat Society.  In recent years, she and her husband lived seven months of the year in Florida and five months of the year in Hampton, NH.  She enjoyed doing crafts, knitting, reading and puzzles.

She leaves her husband of 68 years, Ernest W. Desmond Jr; a daughter, Sheila L. Goodwin and her husband Richard of Gardner; a granddaughter Marcy E. Foreman and her husband Scott of Lunenburg and a great grandson Nathan Foreman.  She was preceded in death by two sons, Keith Desmond, who died in 1986, Dennis Desmond, who died in 1951 and a sister, Shirley Lucies, who died in 1985.

Calling hours in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon will be held Saturday, July 11th from 12 to 2 P.M.

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at a later date.
