WINCHENDON – Christina Marie (Simmers) Ramsay, better known as “Tina”, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Heywood Hospital, Gardner. Tina is the daughter of Nyal Wayne Simmers of Winchendon and the late Junetta “Judy” (Flanders) Simmers. She was born on June 3, 1968 in Fitchburg, Massachusetts and lived in Winchendon with her five sons.
Tina was a loving mother, daughter, sister and auntie. She was a 1986 graduate of Leominster Trade School. Tina’s love for children led to her decision to become a foster parent, and she proudly cared for foster children for many years.
Tina will be greatly missed by her sons: Justin, Jacob, John, Jordan and Joshua Ramsay, all of Winchendon, and her daughters Jasmin Ramsay of Florida and Jennifer Ramsay of Alabama, and Tina’s two grandchildren of Alabama. In addition to her children, she leaves her father, Nyal Wayne Simmers of Winchendon, her sister Amy Simmers-Swanson and her husband Chris and their eight children of Winchendon, her sister Nicole Simmers of Athol, her sister, Elizabeth Simmers of Winchendon, a great-nephew Camryn of Winchendon and Denis Ramsay of Florida, the father of her children. She also leaves her aunts, Barbara Cutting and Esther Thornton of New Hampshire, Patricia Fuller of Maryland and Sharon Forgues of Indiana and her uncle Clayt Parroto of New Hampshire, as well as many cousins. She was predeceased by her mother “Judy” Junetta (Flanders) Simmers, an uncle Clarence Thornton and an aunt Judith Thornton.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 19th at 10 A.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. The Rev. Joseph Jurgelonis will officiate.
Calling hours in the funeral home will be Wednesday, December 18th from 6 to 8 P.M.
