WINCHENDON – Concepta M. (Curtin) Liberti, 84, of 56 Beachview Drive, formerly of New Jersey and Gardner, died peacefully Thursday morning, May 8th in Heywood Hospital, Gardner.
She was born in Brooklyn, NY on August 21, 1929, daughter of the late John and Mary (Healy) Curtin and lived in New Jersey for most of her life. She moved to this area twenty years ago and lived for several years in Gardner before moving to Winchendon.
Concepta worked as a legal secretary in Manhattan, NY for many years until her retirement. At the age of 71, she graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Art from Mt. Wachusett Community College, Gardner. She was a former volunteer in the Gardner elementary schools. Her greatest enjoyments came from spending time with her family and oil painting.
Her husband, Paul P. Liberti, died in 1989. She leaves two children, Victor Liberti and his wife Michele of Coral Springs, FL and Joan Potvin and her husband Michael of Winchendon; six grandchildren, Jonathan Potvin, Matthew Potvin, Susie Liberti, Jamie Liberti-Reuter, Kristy Liberti and Kelly Liberti and three great grandchildren. A sister, Margaret Curtin, preceded her in death.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, May 10th at 10 A.M. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 52 Spruce Street, Winchendon. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Queens, New York.
Calling hours in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon are Friday, May 9th from 5 to 7 P.M.
