Fitchburg, MA

Craig Steven Ingel, a loving and resilient man of Fitchburg, Massachusetts, passed away on January 16, 2025. He was born on June 12, 1965, in Fitchburg, MA, to his parents Linda and Salvatore Ingel. Known for his funny and humble nature, Craig was a cherished member of the community and a 1983 graduate of Fitchburg High School.

Craig was a dedicated worker, having spent the past 11 years at Quiet Logistics and the previous 23 years at Fitchburg State University, but his true love was his family and hobbies. He found joy in watching sports and was a lifelong fan of the Boston teams. His love of music was evident in his passion for playing the guitar and listening to 70s and 80s rock. Craig was also an avid cribbage player and crossword puzzle enthusiast. Above all else, what mattered most to Craig was being a good father.

Craig is survived by his son Matthew (Gracie) Ingel, Matt's mother Ellen (Harold) Featherstone and her daughter Sarah (Robert) Court. His loving siblings, Tracy (Chad) Poche, Scott, Jeffrey, and Cory Ingel, mourn his loss, alongside his nieces and nephews, Sydney and Troy Ingel and their mother Paula Ingel, Conner Poche, and Nicholas Ingel and his mother Samantha Dudac. Craig leaves behind his cousins Alan (Annette) Ingel and their son Jake Ingel, sister-in-law Michele Renaud-Ingel, aunts and uncles Gail (Robert) Breitenbecker and Mary (George) Coakley, and cherished friends Donna Pawlak, David Richard, Billy Testa, and Artie Cox.

He was preceded in death by his parents Salvatore and Linda Ingel, his brother Christopher (Michele) Ingel, grandparents Albert (Dora) Ingel and Richmond (Frances) Racine, and his uncle Frank Ingel. Craig's humble nature, resilience in the face of adversity, and his loving, funny spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

We remember Craig for his humor and humble heart. His memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him. Those who wish to remember Craig are encouraged to share memories and upload photos to his memorial page.
