Cyril M. "Cy" Brehio

WINCHENDON - Cyril M. "Cy" Brehio, 83, of 53 Belmont Avenue, Winchendon, died unexpectedly Sunday morning, November 30th , at his residence. He was born in Winchendon on March 7,1925, the son of the late John and Rose (Bastille) Brehio, and was a lifelong resident of Winchendon. Cy owned and operated the former Cy's Barber Shop in Winchendon for many years. He then worked for the Winchendon School Department as a truck driver and cashier and later drove a school van for Fred's School Bus. His most recent job was making deliveries for Performance Press. Cy was a 1943 graduate of Murdock High School. Following his graduation, he entered the United States Army, proudly serving during World War Two. He was awarded the American Service Medal, World War Two Victory Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of Eugene M. Connor Post 193 American Legion and Frederick Wilder White Post 2158 V.F.W. His hobbies included playing cards and attending horse races . He leaves his wife of 22 years, Sandra L. (Peckham) Brehio; a son, John W. Brehio of Maine; a daughter, Bonnie Coolidge of Winchendon; two sisters, Elizabeth L. Brehio of Winchendon and Rita White of Jackson Heights, N.Y.; a stepson, Earl C. Comer and his wife Debbie of Concord, CA.; a stepdaughter, Amber R. LaFortune and her husband Edmund of Winchendon, six grandchildren, five great grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren. A brother, John Brehio 2nd and three sisters, Norma Kidder, Anita B. Ladeau and Lucille Kaiser, predeceased him. Military graveside services will be held Thursday, December 4th at 3 P.M. in the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon. The Rev. Francis A. Roberge will officiate. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Winchendon EMT Ambulance Fund, PO Box 125, Winchendon, MA. 01475.
