WINCHENDON – Daniel J. Forcier, 64, of 138 Spruce Street, died peacefully at his residence Tuesday morning, October 14th, with his family at his side.
He was born in Winchendon on April 21, 1950, son of Gertrude J. (Lavenskie) Forcier of Winchendon and the late Leo J. Forcier and lived in Winchendon for most of his life.
Dan was a woodworker and had worked at Old Colony Bucket and White Mountain Freezer, both of Winchendon. Most recently, he was employed at Wal-Mart. He had an easy going and very likeable personality and a contagious laugh. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening but mostly treasured time with his family. Dan proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army.
In addition to his mother, he leaves five children, Michele Griffin and her husband Gary of Rindge, NH, Daniel J. Forcier 3rd of Fitchburg, Chantel Szlosek and her husband Ian of Lunenburg, Cristy Agnelli of Winchendon and Crystal Forcier of Gardner; two brothers, Leo J. Forcier Jr of Winchendon and David P. Forcier of Swanzey, NH; two sisters, Kathleen M. Young of Winchendon and Patricia A. St. Pierre of Orange as well as several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Forcier, who died in 2012, and John Forcier, who died in 2002.
Military funeral services will be held Friday, October 17th at 12:30 PM in Riverside Cemetery, Glenallen Street, Winchendon. There are no calling hours.
