David Harold Goewey, loving husband, brother, and loyal friend, passed away on January 22, 2024, at the age of 69. Born in Winchendon, MA on November 4, 1954, David's life was defined by his talent for woodworking and his unwavering loyalty to those he held dear.
David dedicated five decades of his life to M.H. Parks Furniture Company in Winchendon , MA until his retirement in 2020. David's talent extended beyond his job at the furniture company. In his youth, he worked at Birchhill Snowmobiles with Charlie Higgins. He also ran his own sheet metal and repair shop where he worked on race cars with Adam Brooks, Alan Monette and many others.
David's life was not solely defined by his work, he also had many hobbies. David enjoyed camping, Nascar, bowling, cooking, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Gail Goewey, his sister Candace (Richard) Caron, his cousin Lenny (Katie) Brooks, his sister-in-law Gina Paul, brother-in-law Richard (Yvonne) Goewey, sister-in-law Eleanor (Robert) Gauthier, sister-in-law Barbara Paul, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. All of whom will remember him for his thoughtfulness, love, and loyalty.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Goewey and Katherine Goewey. David's greatest joy was taking care of the ones he loved. This unwavering love and commitment were evident in everything he did, from his dedication to his work to his relationships with his family and friends.
A visitation for David will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at 5:00 pm at the Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon, MA. An in-house funeral will follow at 7:00 pm at the same venue. As we gather to remember David, we will celebrate his life and the wonderful memories he has left behind.
