OCALA, FL – David J. Dorman, 71, of Ocala, FL and formerly of Essex, died September 23, 2020 in Advent Health.
He was born in Ipswich, MA on April 16, 1949, son of the late Ernest and Ellen (Marsh) Dorman. Dave grew up in Essex and was a graduate of Gloucester High School. A resident of Essex for most of his life, he moved to Florida in 2018.
A veteran of the Vietnam War, Dave proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. He worked for many years as a custodian at Winthrop Elementary School in Hamilton. He was a great fan of Hallmark Movies, following the Boston Red Sox and playing with the family dog Brandy.
He leaves two children, Kimberly Dorman of Essex and Christina Dorman of Ocala, FL; two sisters, Sheila Bassett of Ocala, FL and Shirley Gallant of Punta Gorda, FL, and his former wife Michelle Dorman of Peabody, MA.
Military funeral services will be held Friday, October 9, 2020 at 10 AM in Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon. There are no calling hours.
