ASHBURNHAM – David M. Dyke, 61, of 54 Lakeshore Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Friday evening, March 18th at The Highlands in Fitchburg, with his family at his side.
He was born in Philadelphia, PA on March 31, 1954, son of Theresa (Croteau) Dyke Vaillancourt of Leominster and the late Robert Dyke. Dave grew up in Fitchburg and graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1972. He had been a resident of Ashburnham since 1988.
Dave most recently worked as a security guard at Cushing Academy. In previous years, he had worked at Simonds Saw and Steel in Fitchburg and also in computer networking and personal computer repair for various computer companies. He attended Cornerstone Church of the Assemblies of God and in the past had been a National Rifle Association instructor. His hobbies included bicycling as well as repairing and refurbishing bicycles. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his mother, he leaves his wife of 35 years, Diana L. (Stockwell) Dyke; three children, David J. Dyke, Hannah L. Dyke and Jacob E. Dyke, all of Ashburnham; two brothers, Robert Dyke Jr and his wife Mary of Ashburnham and Steven Dyke and his wife Debbie of Townsend; two sisters, Lisa Dyke and Lori Dyke, both of Templeton as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 23rd at 11 A.M. in Cornerstone Church of Assemblies of God, 122 Gardner Road, Winchendon.
Calling hours at the church will precede the funeral Wednesday from 10 to 11 A.M.
Burial will be in Ashburnham at a later date.
Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon is directing arrangements.
