It is with profound respect and love that we celebrate the life of Dennis Parenteau, born on September 27, 1952, a man whose spirit was as vibrant as the landscapes he so loved to nurture. A resident of Winchendon, Massachusetts, Dennis was a beacon of light whose impact was felt by all who had the honor of knowing him. His laughter was infectious, his stories captivating, and his devotion to lend a helping hand was inspiring. Dennis, who served in the US Army during the Vietnam War, was a testament to bravery and resilience, qualities he carried into all aspects of his life.
Dennis' love for the outdoors was unmatched. Whether he was casting a line on a peaceful lake, tending to his beloved chickens, creating a lush oasis in his yard, or spending time with the “game night crew” whose love and support is so appreciated. His heart, strong and nurturing, breathed life into the earth, just as he did into the lives of his loved ones. He leaves behind his wife Elizabeth Parenteau, sons Scott Parenteau and Justin Parenteau, his sister Elaine Gehrken and her husband David, brothers Robert Parenteau and his wife Paula and Raymond Parenteau, sister-in-law Christine Parenteau, and his longtime friend Beth Hunt. Dennis joins his parents Lucienne and Almanzor, and his brother Roger in peaceful rest.
A graveside service to celebrate Dennis' remarkable life will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street Winchendon, Massachusetts, 01475.
To honor Dennis' memory, we encourage friends and family to share their stories, photos, and memories of him. Each shared memory paints a picture of his life and will help keep his vibrant spirit alive in our hearts.
