Dennis M. Leahy

FITCHBURG - Dennis M. Leahy, 52, of 29 Plain Street, Fitchburg, died Saturday, January 12th. He was born in Worcester on November 22,1955, the son of Richard and Jeannie (Coyle) Leahy and grew up in Worcester. He lived most recently in Ashburnham, Westminster and Fitchburg. Dennis was a registered nurse at Deaconness Nashoba Hospital in Ayer for many years. He was a graduate of Quinsigamond Community College and received his Bachelors Degree in Nursing from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. He was an avid fisherman and loved camping and traveling. He leaves three children, Dennis Michael Mattson of FL, Sarah Leahy of Ashburnham and Jamie Leahy of Winchendon; a granddaughter, Emily Mattson; a sister, Kathy Leahy of TX; three brothers, Richard Leahy of CA., Tim Leahy of Worcester and James Leahy of New Bedford, as well as several nephews and nieces. A son, Ryan Leahy, died in 1983. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, January 18th at 10 A.M. in St. Joseph's Church, 49 Woodland Street, Fitchburg. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Fitchburg. Calling hours will be held Thursday, January 17th from 5 to 8 P.M. in the O'Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester.
