ASHBURNHAM – Donald J. Tremblay, 83, of 40 Sunset Drive, died peacefully at his residence Saturday morning, April 9th, with his family at his side.

He was born in Cambridge, MA on June 28, 1932, son of the late Henry and Julie (LaVoie) Tremblay and graduated from Arlington High School.  He lived for many years in Tewksbury and for the last twenty years had been a resident of Ashburnham.

Don proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Korean War.  He worked as a repair technician for 37 years for Sears until his retirement at the age of 63.  His hobbies were building houses and furniture.  Don was also an avid walker.  His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family.

He leaves his wife of 58 years, Elaine (Wilkins) Tremblay; nine children, Virginia Murphy and her husband John of Center Tuftonboro, NH, Donald J. Tremblay Jr and his wife Treva of Kirkland, WA, Julie Tremblay and her partner Gail Wickstrom of Truro, Laura Peters and her husband Philip of Littleton, Paul Tremblay of Seattle, WA, Thomas Tremblay and his wife Kim of Tuftonboro, NH, Diane Doukellis of Ashburnham, Brian Tremblay of Seattle, WA and Claire Tremblay and her husband Tony Pepe of Holliston; a brother Mo Tremblay of Eastham; 11 grandchildren, one great grandson, 13 nephews and 18 nieces.  Three brothers, Ray Tremblay, Bob Tremblay and Jack Tremblay, preceded him in death

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 13th at 10 A.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon.  Burial, with military honors, will follow in Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon.

Calling hours in the funeral home are Tuesday, April 12th from 5 to 7 P.M.
