Donald P. Roy

WINCHENDON – Donald P. Roy, 78, of Winchendon, died peacefully at UMASS Medical Center, University Campus, Worcester, surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday, July 28, 2013.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 58 years, Phyllis M. (Desroche) Roy; devoted children, David P. Roy of Arlington, MA and Renelle M. Roy and her husband James Varzakis of Malden.
He was born in Winchendon on August 24, 1934 to Wilfred and Mildred Roy. He also leaves a sister, Gloria Bourgault of Winchendon and the late Lorraine Courtemanche, as well as two nieces and a nephew.
Donald worked at General Electric in Fitchburg for 35 years. His hobby included woodworks and crafts made from that found at the seashore.
The family of Donald want to express their sincere thanks to the staff of the Cardiac Care Intensive Care Unit at UMASS Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 31st at 11 A.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. The Rev. Francis A. Roberge will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Red Cross, 274 Tremont Street, Boston, MA 02116.
