Dorothy R. (Hanks) Nasiatka

WINCHENDON - Dorothy R. (Hanks) Nasiatka, 83, of 99 Ipswich Drive, Winchendon, died peacefully Wednesday morning, August 13th in the Leo P. LaChance Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, Gardner. She was born in Winchendon on February 27,1925, the daughter of Charles O. and Clara (Lafreniere) Hanks and was a lifelong resident of Winchendon. Dot was a hairdresser for many years, operating the former Dottie's Beauty Salon in Winchendon. She was a communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and sang in its church choir for many years. Dot was a 1943 graduate of Murdock High School. Her husband of 49 years, Frank S. Nasiatka, Sr., died in 1997, and her son, Frank S. Nasiatka, Jr. of Winchendon, died on June 22nd of this year. She leaves a daughter, Julie A. Osborne of Shrewsbury; two grandchildren, Charles R. Nasiatka and his wife Niki of Winchendon and Lori A. Sheppard and her husband Steven G. of Winchendon; a daughter-in-law, Karen L. (Roberts) Nasiatka of Winchendon; five great grandchildren, Christine Nasiatka, Charles J. Nasiatka, Chelsey Nasiatka, Samantha Sheppard and Taylor Sheppard and three special friends, Aline Lafalam, Kenneth E. Broughton and Cole A. Lupien. Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family in Calvary Cemetery, Winchendon. There are no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church Restoration Fund, 52 Spruce Street, Winchendon, MA. 01475.
