WINCHENDON – Dorothy R. (Mellen) Diotalevi, 92, formerly of 240 Front Street, died peacefully Friday morning, May 16th in Wachusett Manor Nursing Home, Gardner.
A lifelong resident of Winchendon, Dorothy was born on February 15, 1922, the daughter of the late Maurice A. and Clara H. (Gauthier) Mellen.
Dorothy worked as an assembler for 25 years at New Hampshire Ball Bearing until her retirement. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Lt Frederick Wilder White Post 2158 Ladies Auxiliary, Eugene M. Connor Post 193 Ladies Auxiliary and Winchendon Golden Age Club. She enjoyed dancing.
Her husband of 62 years, Alfonso Q.A. “Babe” Diotalevi, died in 2003 and her son, Richard A. Diotalevi of Gardner died March 22nd, 2014. She leaves a daughter, Sally M. Kesting of Fitchburg; a daughter in –law, Joyce Diotalevi of Gardner; eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by three brothers, Harry Q. Mellen, Clarence Mellen and Maurice Mellen and a sister, Elizabeth V. Raymond.
Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
