FITCHBURG – Douglas L. DuVerger, 68, of Fitchburg, formerly of Gardner and Winchendon, died Thursday, December 10th in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester.
He was born in Fitchburg on January 23, 1947, son of the late Lloyd and Margaret A. (Ratte) DuVerger and served two years in the United States Army and four years in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.
Doug had worked as a senior quality process engineer at Digital Equipment in Westminster for 18 years until the company closed. He then worked at North Central Human Services in Gardner and Templeton Developmental Center. His hobbies were travelling and working with computers.
He leaves a daughter, Dawn Michaud and her family of Worcester; a sister Sandra Kelleher and her family of Florida and a brother, Robert DuVerger and his family of Keene, N.H. He was preceded in death by a son, Dana DuVerger in 2007 and a sister, Barbara Pelto in 2012.
Military funeral services will be held Thursday, December 17th at 1 P.M. in Massachusetts Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon. There are no calling hours.
