WINCHENDON – Edward L. Aylward, 63, of 23 Brown Street, Winchendon died peacefully Tuesday evening, February 25th at his residence.
He was born in Gardner on September 26, 1950, the son of the late James and Rosina E. (Landry) Aylward and lived in Winchendon for most of his life.
Ed worked in construction, roofing and siding for many years. Self-employed, he operated Aylward Construction Co. and worked in the areas of Greenfield, Gardner, Springfield and Gill. His hobbies included coin collecting.
He leaves a daughter, Tammy Marie Bigelow of Cleveland, TN; his brothers and sisters, James Aylward of Gardner, Raymond Aylward of Gardner, John Aylward of Winchendon, Blanche Benware of Norton, VT, Emily Inferrara of Savannah, GA and Mary Ann Woods of Dublin, NH; 2 grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. Two brothers, Richard Aylward and Lee Aylward, and a sister, Patricia Tinker, predeceased him.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 4th at 1 P.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon.
Burial, with military honors, will follow in Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery.
