Edwin A. Heilman

WINCHENDON - Edwin A. Heilman, 70, of 3 First Avenue, Glenwood Park, died Monday morning, September 4th in the Leo P. LaChance Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, Gardner. He was born in Monroe, Wisconsin on May 17,1936, the son of Sylvester and Ruth (Wilson) Heilman and had lived in Winchendon for four years, after moving from Worcester. Edwin was a computer technician at Acme Pre-Pac Co. in Worcester for many years and most recently worked at Fred's School Bus Company in Winchendon. He was a 1954 graduate of Tomah High School in Tomah, Wisconsin and then entered the United States Air Force, where he served for 20 years, retiring as a Staff Sergeant in 1974. He enjoyed yard work, playing cards and traveling. His main enjoyment was spending time with his family and grandchildren. He will be remembered for his kind and gentlemanly manner. He leaves his wife of 17 years, Gladys (LaLiberte) Heilman; a son, William S. Heilman and his wife, Rebecca of Three Rivers, MA., a daughter, Sarah Heilman of Millbury; a step-daughter, Patricia A. Erickson and her husband, Keith of Athol; his step-mother, Lillian Heilman of Tomah, Wisconsin; a brother, Sylvester Heilman and his wife Cherie of Wisconsin; two sisters, Eleanore Hinkle of Beloit, Wisconsin and Sharon Larkon and her husband Terry of Tomah, Wisconsin; eight grandchildren, Morrissa Heilman, Morria Heilman, Morrie Heilman, Corey Heilman, Jessica Reardon, Ashley Erickson, Kristin Erickson and Jonathan Erickson, and several nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. on Friday, September 8th in the Snow-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. The Rev. Francis A. Roberge will officiate. Burial will be in the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon. Callling hours in the funeral home will be on Thursday, September 7th from 6 to 8 P.M.
