WINCHENDON - Edwina M. (Atchison) Mann, 89, of 547 Central Street, Winchendon, died Sunday morning, July 6th in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, University Campus, Worcester. She was born in Yonkers, New York on March 11,1919, the daughter of Lake and Cora May (Fredericks) Atchison. Her ancestors go back to the Dutch settlers along the Hudson River. Edwina had lived in Massachusetts for many years, in the towns of Sudbury, Groton and Pepperell. For over twenty years, she owned the West Groton Service Center. She lived in Winchendon for the last four years. Edwina was a 1937 graduate of Bloomfield High School in Bloomfield, New Jersey and worked for Prudential Life Insurance Company many years ago. She lived in Montclair, New Jersey for several years, where she was a member of the Central Presbyterian Church and sang in its church choir. She was also active in the Girl Scouts and was a volunteer at Livingston General Hospital. Her husband of 27 years, Harry Scott Mann, Jr., died in 1968. She leaves three children, Richard F. Mann of Lake Wylie, S.C., Nancy J. MacArt of Swanton, VT. and Linda M. Baum of Winchendon, seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Friday, July 11th at Noon in Bloomfield Cemetery, Bloomfield, New Jersey. There are no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
